Comments :-

The Uniden UBC 780xlt is a great home-base scanner with PC controlled capabilities via
the RS232 port which comes in handy for updating the scanner using software (downloads)
The trunking is of little use for the UK although using some software you can easily
track various UK trunking frequencies although I had to tap the discriminator to achieve
best results which also benefits when using encryption software for pagers etc.
Searching is very fast comapared with other scanners I,ve used, (300 steps per second in 5khz steps)
The CTCSS/DCS search is impressive, it will search out the CTCSS/DCS codes and display them on
screen which is handy for PMR's (especially when using the Yaesu VX-7r to talk back)..
Its pretty simple to use, looks smart and has many functions.
Worth every penny..

Comments :-

This is a good mobile scanner, basic and very easy to use,
a lthough a little bulky for the pocket.
Plenty of channels, Although this lacks in alot of the functuality of
the Uniden its much easier to use, especially when searching, as simple
as enter the freq and pressing search !
This has no gaps and is AM/FM switchable on any freq.
A pretty easy to get to main reset button on the side (using a pin) is
handy for if you get pulled, so as to wipe memory clean..

A great little bit of kit this. Small, waterproof, easily modable.
Its a scanner and transiever all in one. It recieves 2 freqs at same time displaying both on the screen. It is very easy to mod giving a transmit
range of 40.000Mhz - 224.995Mhz & 300Mhz - 579.995Mhz.
It has CTCSS and DCS Encoder/ Decoder Circuits Built In; Split Tone mode available. The LCD has many functions, even using icons which are changable.
PC controlable. Output power of 5watts is good for a handheld.
It looks good and performs great, never leave home without it..

Comments :-

This is just normal basic C.B radio and does exactly what it says on the tin.
Once modded this radio has a transmit range of 25.615Mhz - 30.105Mhz which is
plenty of talking channels to loose the muppets and also a UK 1-40 readout
for all bands including the UK CB Band. 1 9 a roger :)
The only trouble with the modification is it results in the loss of memorie
channel use , small price to pay for the extra channels..
All in all a reliable radio, 10 4 good buddy :)
